Peosta Becomes a New Addition to the Community Heart and Soul Network

The city of Peosta has become a new addition to the Community Heart and Soul network. With monetary support from the PEDC and local business owners, the Peosta Economic Development Corp (PEDC) recently applied for the Community Heart and Soul $10,000 matching grant, and Denise Grant was hired as project coordinator.

The Community Heart and Soul process focuses on engaging residents in identifying what they love about their town and what would make it even better. It is important that input is gathered from all demographics…families, seniors, veterans, teens, renters, NICC students, etc so informed decisions can be made about what the residents want for the future of Peosta. Over the next six months we'll be attending community events to connect with people and hosting a few of our own events. We’ll report back our results and get residents together to prioritize ideas for action. Endowment funds through the Small Town Dreams Initiative are then directed to be spent on things residents care about.
